14th to the 20th May 2018 was Mental Health Awareness Week. This was essential in raising awareness of mental illness, the symptoms, causes and problems associated with mental illness.
According to the Mental Health Foundation (MHF), research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetime, and stress and anxiety is a key factor in this. If we improve education around stress and the causes of stress this could help reduce depression and anxiety, and help people to live better more productive and stress free lives.
It is vital that all the good work that is being carried out by mental health charities and other related organisations continues, so with further support people can feel less stigmatised by talking about their mental health. Talking really is the key to getting better and there are plenty of professionals out there who can support and guide.
Once a person suffering from mental illness starts to talk about their illness and then starts to manage and control there mental health, the services of Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and further along the line a Life Coach can be used to help the person progress to obtain optimum mental and physical well-being.
To assist as many people affected as possible it is vital that information is available to help and guide those who want assistance, many people require information on the following -
How to manage stress in work - www.verywellmind.com
How to manage stress in life - www.mentalhealth.org
Stress management techniques - www.helpguide.org
Symptoms of stress and anxiety - www.anxietyuk.org.uk
Off course apart from talking there are many things that people can do to assist with stress and anxiety.
Supporters of the Mental Health Foundation provided their 101 top tips for managing stress.
We have selected our top 20 tips, but you can read the full list on the MHF website.
