Why coaching for 18-21 years olds is so important?

Student and young adult coaching - Helping students find direction, clarity and purpose.

I have a lot of sympathy for young people, especially those at university. Yes students get a hard time but being a young adult in todays world is not easy. I personally had a bit of a torrid time at university. My father had just passed away, I had moved away from home, I did not have much money, I had no idea how to look after myself and my mental health was up and down. I do not think these things are dissimilar for a lot of students and young people now. I did not particularly want to see a GP or a councillor, but I may well have spoken to a coach, someone who could assist and encourage me, someone who could help me sort my problems and give me some guidance and direction.

As part of what I do, I really want to help students and other young people. I want to guide and encourage them so they do not make the same mistakes that I made. When I first started to take an interest in coaching, I researched other life coaching website for a student service or coaching. There was not a lot out there, and in addition what struck me was the range of prices charged, from high to very high. Some of the prices charged are going to be out of reach of a lot of young people. I believe that everyone should have access to good quality, reasonably priced coaching, whether this be life coaching, wellness coaching or nutrition coaching.

Life Coaching is a profession that is vastly different from therapy or counselling. The coaching process addresses specific personal aims, work issues or problems, general physical and medical conditions and changes the client may want to make in their personal life, relationship or career.

Coaching is about the present, looking at what is going on now, almost like a snapshot in time. A coach will help a client discover what obstacles or challenges there might be, and which course of action will make their life what they want it to be. Students will not necessarily require career coaching, but they will have to be in the process of deciding what they want to do, and they will still be affected by economics, relationships and deadlines.

A session can be done face to face or by video call. It can be done at a venue or place of their choosing, where they feel comfortable. We can discuss life goals, physical well-being, mental well-being, study problems or aims, personal issues, relationships. Talk to me, give me the information and I will see if I can assist. There is nothing to lose, yes it will cost, but I believe I can help. I am very flexible and will see anyone between 9am and 10pm, Monday to Saturday. If further sessions are agreed I will do 3 sessions and 6 sessions for a discounted price.

The Life Coaching Format:

  • 1 hour complimentary coaching consultation - in person, by video call, by phone call

  • This 60 minute first session, will be a getting to know each other session, do we fit? Can I coach you? Do you require another service? i.e. counselling.

  • A post session phone call - to discuss how the client is feeling, establishing whether the session was helpful, and do they require further sessions.

  • Email and/or Messaging support (Whats app/iMessage)

  • Occasional brief check-in phone calls

  • Student offer - after 1st free session. PAYG sessions £30, 3 booked sessions £80, 6 booked sessions £160

So give me a call - I can assist.
